Previous Vintages sold out: If you bought wines from us in the past and want  to refer back to specific details you are in the right place. Below we list the wines we produced per vintage.

2012 was a long and hot year. The harvest felt very dragged out but this was because of the decision to harvest at higher sugar levels. (To achieve phenolic ripeness.) We produced our first Sauvignon Blanc at Zevenwacht and this quickly proved to be a game changer. Also a year of experimenting in the cellar with Grenache and a co-ferment Rhone Blend. A great winemaking year. Also sourced our grapes for the first time from Zevenwacht Wine Estate

*Origin: Wine of origin Stellenbosch.

*Lees Contact: 6 months, no wood contact.

*Description: Combination of flinty green undertones and tropical fruit flavours. Perfect acidity and full on the palate. If you prefer more fruity flavours, easy… let the bottle of wine stand open for an hour or two before drinking – amazing difference! To add complexity and dimension to the wine we also added 13% Semillon to the Sauvignon Blanc

*Bottles produced: 2400

*Analysis: TA 7.1 g/l | pH 3.42 | Alc % 13.21 | RS 2.1 g/l

*Barrel fermented: Yes. Also barrel matured in old French oak. Not our idea to overpower the wine with wood, it only plays a supporting role.

*Lees Contact: 7 months; extra depth and character (Batonage once a week)

*Description: Tropical fruit flavours, honey and citrus. Sometimes it is almost if you experience nutty undertones.

*Bottles produced: 330

*Analysis: TA 5.74 g/l | pH 3.34 | Alc % 13.67 | RS 1.6 g/l

2011 was an outstanding year, not exactly 2009. Favourable slower ripening gave the wanted concentartion. The heatwave in late January kept us on our tows though. Easier year in the seller, better organised and more effective. Keep in mind, in September 2011 we started selling our wine for the first time! Suddenly a new game… Sales!

*Origin: Wine of origin Stellenbosch.

*Style: Dry white wine with ‘sweet’ nose.

*Description: Peach and apricot undertones. Floral notes, rose petals

2010 was more challenging than 2010, strange, one will actually refer back to your maiden vintage as the most challenging. When we say difficult we refer more to the vineyards and growing conditions than then the actual winemaking. Late ripening, lower yields and wind; lots of wind! All our fruit was sourced from Mooiplaas, Stellenbosch. The concentration was not what it was in 2009, a bit less evident fruit in the wine. Nevertheless, the vintage delivered two exceptional wines; the Cabernet Franc and Mark

A memorable year marked by 350 years of winemaking, no not us; South Africa! But, our maiden vintage! If you still have some of these wines; keep them, they are kinda special. Especially the Matthew; the first of the Apostles (the Bordeaux blend we produce each year). 2009 is seen as one of the best vintages in the industry, an exceptional year. Perfect growing conditions delivering perfect fruit. But what do we know; this was our first year of producing wine! In 2009 we sourced all our grapes from Stellenbosch, more specific, Bottelary Heuwels. The Roos brothers (Mooiplaas) were bombarded with our rookie wine questions – Thanks for the patience Louis and Tielman!
