Garagiste Winemaking

About Twelve Apostles Winery

Established in 2009. A father and son garagiste winery that produces a limited range of quality wines. We do not focus on any specific style or trend but rather produce a wine that showcases the vintage and terroir.

This is what we love to do - Welcome to our world!

Garagiste winemaking is a passion-driven endeavor, where limited quantities of wine are produced in a DIY setting, such as a garage or storeroom. Unlike commercial winemaking, this approach prioritises fun and creativity over profit. With limited equipment and traditional techniques, the goal is to find innovative solutions to achieve great results. While there's no strict definition or volume restriction, a true garagiste operation should be small enough to fit in a garage. The real reward lies in the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes with enjoying a bottle of your own handcrafted wine.

About Kanah

July 2026: The first wine under the Kanah label.
After 18 years of Twelve Apostles Winery, we felt it was time to create something unique — something special.

The very first public miracle of Jesus happened in Cana of Galilee, also called Kanah. It’s a beautiful story, full of wonder. At a wedding, water was turned into wine. And not just any wine — it was the best wine.

The master of the feast called the bridegroom over and said,
"Everyone serves the good wine first, but you’ve saved the best for last."

Miracles still happen every day.

There were six large stone water jars. They were filled with water — about 120 gallons in total, or roughly 20 gallons per jar.
That’s about 450 litres of wine or 600 bottles!

All of it, good quality wine.
